Annually, the WiSDEM (Women in Science, Design, Engineering and Manufacturing) Club at Alamance Community College hosts an event called Girls Take Over Tech. This event aims to encourage young females who are wanting to pursue careers in fields that are traditionally not employed by females, (namely those in the Science, Design, Engineering, and Trades fields) to not give up on their pursuit. Our goal is display a wide variety of Industry Partners who have employed females that can speak about their experiences in the field and their career/educational journeys. We are SO excited to share that this year's event will graciously be hosted by Sandvik Coromant. It will take plance on Monday, April 8th at 5:30pm at Sandvik Coromant's Mebane location. We have a packed schedule of special guest speakers, Sandvik Facility Tours, and over 25 Industry Partners and ACC Departments that will be represented.
We hope that have a wonderful turnout. Though this is "Girls Take Over Tech", we definitely do not discriminate. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Sandvik is asking that those who are able to do so, pre-register. There is a QR code on the attached flyer. The link can also be found here:
