It is bittersweet that we announce that after 10 impactful years as President of United Way of Alamance County, and 12 years of employment with the agency, Heidi Norwick will retire no later than June 30, 2024. Her unwavering commitment to the positive advancement of Alamance County has been an inspiration to many, and we thank Heidi for her years of service, her vision, and her contributions to the community.
“It has been my privilege to work with many incredible teams over the years who are truly committed to the mission of United Way and envisioning a community that comes together to break down barriers, eliminate inequities, and end poverty.” - Heidi Norwick, President, United Way of Alamance County
“Heidi has worked tirelessly to build a strong foundation and infrastructure for the organization, which has made a profound difference for good in our community”, says current Board Chair, Adrian Daye. “We are grateful for Heidi’s ability to push United Way to stay on top of nonprofit trends and cutting-edge technologies.”
From creating strategic plans to organizing fundraising events and supporting community partners and their directors, Heidi has provided strong and stable leadership for all areas of the organization. Her ability to forge relationships with partner agencies and the communities they serve has been critical for the United Way to fulfill its mission. Heidi’s ability to foster relationships with donors, workplace campaign coordinators and community leaders provided foundational support for partner agencies to advance their work.
“I am eternally grateful for a 28 year career in nonprofits in which I have made many friends, been afforded many opportunities to learn and grow, and most of all had the ability to impact the lives of others for the good.”
On behalf of United Way Staff and the Board of Directors, we are excited for her to be able to spend more time with her family and to pursue other dreams and aspirations. The Board of Directors has assembled a committee to help identify the organization’s next leader and a search will be launched this spring.
Thank you, Heidi, for everything you have done for United Way and will do in the future for Alamance County!
