Community Investments

Each year, funds are raised in the community and subsequently granted back out to nonprofits that are serving individuals and families living in Alamance County. A diverse team of community volunteers vet the applications and make fund recommendations to the United Way Program Committee. With a commitment to alleviating poverty in our community, preference was given to those agencies that demonstrated their work to eliminated disparities, specifically in historically under-represented populations.

United Way of Alamance County is proud to announce we will be funding 19 Community Investments in the 2022 calendar year. Board and staff have worked diligently to transform this process to focus on equity and historically underserved populations. Both staff and board members are participating in training and strategic planning to move this work forward. We continue to fund in the areas of health, education and financial stability. The funded agencies are as follows:
