This April, New Leaf Society, in partnership with Glen Raven, Inc., will be participating in NCDOT’s Litter Sweep campaign. Did
you know that in a typical year, our local, five-county NCDOT division spends around $1.5 million on litter collection along our roadways? Not only is litter expensive, but it also diminishes the curb appeal of our community.
We are taking action in our little corner of Alamance County, and we’d like to challenge other community groups to organize their own litter sweeps this spring.
NCDOT’s program runs from April 15-29 and coincides with Earth Day. Please visit their website for information on how you can help by organizing your own Litter Sweep team. NCDOT will provide supplies and will pick up filled trash bags after your sweep, by request.
