Dear North Carolina Business Leaders,
The NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service -VolunteerNC- promotes and facilitates service and volunteering to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement in North Carolina. Our goal is to increase volunteerism and foster communication and collaboration with partners in communities across North Carolina.
I’m writing to invite you to participate in a NC Business Volunteerism initiative. We’d like to partner with you because a large percentage of NC’s volunteers engage in their communities through employer initiatives and incentives. Many of these programs have been suspended over the past 15 months and Blue Cross NC wanted to help us revive corporate volunteerism by creating an outreach plan to share with the NC business community. Would you please share this information with your employees, HR department, and business networks in addition to making plans to lend volunteer support to your local nonprofit organizations?
Please find below, attached, and linked, examples and tools (All in NC Outreach Toolkit) for ways businesses can participate. VolunteerNC would like to hear from and see how your employees support nonprofit organizations in your community. Don’t hesitate to contact me now or in the future.
Thank you for supporting volunteerism in your community,
Beth Hardison Disaster Donations Coordinator VolunteerNC Office of Governor Roy Cooper
