Celebrate Black History Month and share the love on Valentine’s Weekend with a heartfelt event honoring the power of love in our community. Join us on Saturday, February 15th, at 2:00 PM at the Historic Paramount Theater in Downtown Burlington for Power+Place: Legacies of Love Story Screening.
This special program is a love letter to Alamance County, showcasing moving stories of love from power couples and prominent community figures. These stories, collected over five years as part of the Power+Place Collaborative’s community-based oral history and digital storytelling initiative, were created in collaboration with the African American Cultural Arts & History Center and Burlington Recreation and Parks.
The event begins with a History Harvest and special reception at 2:00 PM, followed by the screening at 2:30 PM sharp. Bring your memorable items and photographs and we will digitize them for you while you watch the screening.
Afterward, stay for a brief audience talk-back session to reflect on the stories and share your thoughts. Don’t miss this inspiring celebration of love, legacy, and community!
Get your free tickets here! Space is limited.
