The academy is sponsored by the Mebane Woman's Club, the City of Mebane Recreation and Parks Department, and the AARP Triad Chapter of NC. The objective of the academy is to enhance the everyday lives of older adults and their caregivers by educating them about crime prevention, fire safety, adult protection services, financial scams, healthcare, injury prevention in the home, caregiving, palliative care, and hospice. The academy runs from March 12, 2025 to April 16, 2025 on Wednesday mornings at the Mebane Arts and Community Center, located at 633 Corregidor St in Mebane. It is free to the community. Attendance is limited to 40 people.
