Family Abuse Services of Alamance is delighted to announce the joining of Detra Betts as the new executive director. Detra has been previously working as Executive Director at Haven of the Dan River Region and has over eight years of experience in providing services to vulnerable populations, particularly victims of domestic violence.
"I am excited to have this opportunity to work with a passionate organization such as Family Abuse Services and to begin this journey in Alamance County. I look forward to working closely with community partners to assure that individuals experiencing intimate partner and family violence have access to an array of services that will help victims find safety and freedom from violence in all its various forms,” say Betts.
Detra holds a master’s degree in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University. She has experience in management of a domestic violence agency, has served as a victim advocate, a community educator, and a residential case manager. Detra was awarded the Who’s Who in America in September 2021.
