Joining Together, Looking Ahead: A Policy Briefing and Collective Action Strategy Session for Triad Nonprofits

This session brings together nonprofit leaders to discuss public policy issues that are important to nonprofits based in the Triad, and the people and communities they serve.

Morning Session: David Heinen, Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy at the NC Center for Nonprofits, will provide a briefing on nonprofit sector trends and key public policy challenges and possible solutions for nonprofits in 2025 and beyond. With several major policy developments affecting the nonprofit sector in the past month and the state legislative session underway, this will be a timely and important conversation not to miss. (When you register, we will send you a link to a survey that will inform the convening. Be sure to share your input!)

Lunch Speaker: Barbara Lentz is an innovative advisor, teacher, and attorney who has been active in the nonprofit and philanthropy sector her entire career. Barbara brings real life experiences and scenarios to her work, advising nonprofits to think creatively and work collaboratively to solve problems. During this session, she will share best practices in grassroots advocacy and practical tips participants can use to get activated…together.

Afternoon Session: Using what’s learned in the prior sessions, teams (made up of you!) to start developing strategies and tactics to build power while centering those who will be most affected by emerging policies.

Participant Cost: $15 per person (lunch will be provided).
