“Stories of Alamance County 2024 Spaces of Faith & Spiritual Diversity” is a public screening, History Harvest, and community dialogue of Alamance County Stories.
Thursday, December 5 from 5:00-730 pm
Elon Community Church (271 N Williamson Ave, Elon, NC 27244)
This event will feature a public screening, History Harvest, community dialogue, county resource tables, and free dinner open to the Alamance community. We will share new Alamance County oral history digital stories co-created this fall with Elon students and the African American Cultural Arts & History Museum, the City Gate Dream Center, the Burlington Masjid, Elon First Baptist Church, and Burlington First Baptist Church.
All community members are invited to bring historically significant items to be digitized. The History Harvest invites you to share any objects that help tell our stories: photographs, memorabilia, and other historic treasures! After signing a consent form, items will be digitized, returned to their owners, and images uploaded on the Power + Place website for an online community archive.
The purpose of the project is to record, preserve, and celebrate stories that represent the diverse voices and histories of our county with the aim of building bridges of understanding.
If you are able to attend, please be sure to register here.
