Partner with Elon students on a grant proposal during Fall 2026

 

Elon University's Human Service Studies program is looking for three to four Alamance County organizations to partner with students in an upper-level course on program evaluation and grant writing.

 

What you'd receive: A small team of students, working under faculty supervision, will develop a brief needs assessment and a complete grant proposal for a project of your choosing. You'd have both in hand by early December, ready to adapt and submit to the funders you think best.

 

What we'd ask of you: A conversation at the start of the semester so students understand your organization and the project, then roughly an hour a week or less as they work — a few emailed questions, an occasional check-in. Students come prepared, and faculty handle the supervision. We're not asking you to manage student workers.

 

What kinds of projects fit best: Modest, concrete needs where a few thousand dollars would make a real difference — a specific piece of equipment, a pilot program, a one-time expense. Large or complex applications aren't a good fit for a single semester.

 

Funding attached: At the end of the semester, our program will award $2,000 to one participating organization's project. Every partner finishes with a usable proposal; one finishes with this funding.

 

A note on expectations: This is coursework. Students produce a proposal for you to review, revise, and submit; we don't submit applications or secure funding on your behalf. Faculty review everything before it reaches you.
