VITA Appointments Now Available

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

United Way of Alamance County has started taking appointments for tax return preparation. There are 5 locations in Alamance County, some with a drop-off option. Several locations have expanded hours to better accommodate those tax payers needing non-traditional office hours. There is also a new location on the Alamance Community College campus in Graham.
