MLK Day of Service

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. recognized the power of service for a community. He once said, “Everyone can be great because everybody can serve.” In 1983, Congress deemed the third Monday in January a day of service to honor the legacy of MLK and to empower individuals to make a difference in each of their communities.

Much like MLK, United Way of Alamance County is also committed to making our community a better place. We share a vision of making a lasting impact on our county and promote ongoing service. We have created a page on our website dedicated to volunteer opportunities. Please take the time to visit each of the websites to see what you can do to make a difference.

“Make it a day on, not a day off!”

If you are unable to donate your time, you can also donate your resources. Donate to our Community Fund to support non-profits in Alamance County. We do extensive research and use data to put your money where it is needed most. Make a donation, make a difference!
