Burlington Royals Partners with United Way for Draft Day Beer Festival
The 1st annual Burlington Royals Draft Day is May 7th, 2016 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Beer fans can fill their glasses with samples from more than 20 breweries including Red Oak Brewery, Carolina Brewery, and Lagunitas Brewing Company. There will be 85 tastes to choose from, tasty bites from multiple food trucks, and live music by Honest James Band.
“Draft Day attendees will be able to enjoy Burlington Athletic Stadium in a new way,” said General Manager, Ryan Keur. “Instead of being in the stands, fans can enjoy a unique experience of now being on the field, enjoying the music, beer, and food.”
The event is more than just enjoying some brews at the stadium; Draft Day benefits United Way of Alamance County—an organization whose mission is to mobilize the caring power of our community to advance the common good.
“When the Burlington Royals contacted us about Draft Day, we were honored,” said Marketing and Events Coordinator, Lauren Berk. “United Way values partnerships with the business community to fuel our work and were thrilled that the Royals chose United Way to benefit through this new and exciting event at the stadium.”
UWAC currently runs multiple in-house programs like Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, 2-1-1, and Community Council, and funds 41 programs at 33 Alamance County agencies.
“The choice to partner with United Way of Alamance County was an easy one,” said Keur. United Way is at the table with the business community, the faith community, and the non-profit community with the goal of making Alamance County healthier and stronger by bringing everyone together. We are proud to support the community impact work of United Way.”
Early bird tickets are $35 in advance on Eventbrite, which includes Draft Day t-shirt. After April 15th, tickets are $40. The event runs from 3:00pm-6:00pm rain or shine at the Burlington Royals Stadium. The event is limited to the first 1,500 participants.
