United Way of Alamance County Promotes Julie McAteer to Director of Finance, Administration & Operations

Julie McAteer has been promoted to Director of Finance, Administration & Operations of United Way of Alamance County.  Julie joined the United Way staff on May 1, 2014.  Over the past four years, she has moved the organization forward in many ways including streamlining accounting procedures and financial reporting for more transparency and efficiency and establishing policies and procedures for personnel, payroll, and internal operations. Julie successfully navigated the sale and purchase of our former office space and supervised the construction and a smooth transition to United Way’s new location in downtown Burlington.

Julie is a lifelong resident of Alamance County and has a vast knowledge of her community.  She is a graduate of Elon University with a degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting.  Her work experience includes both public accounting and the private sector, serving in Office Managerial and Accounting roles.

Julie currently serves on the Impact Alamance Community Grant Advisory Committee and Healthy Alamance Board.  As a cancer survivor, she is an active volunteer in Relay for Life and Little Pink Houses of Hope. She is also involved in her church, Front Street United Methodist, and various other community projects.

She is often asked to assist other nonprofits and local government in the areas of finance, marketing, personnel, and fundraising.  Julie is currently enrolled in the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, co-sponsored by United Way of Alamance County and Impact Alamance to build capacity for Alamance County nonprofits and their senior staff and is a graduate of Leadership Alamance.
