Celebrate United Way of Alamance County’s Move to Downtown Burlington

United Way of Alamance County is excited to announce they will be moving into new offices at 220 East Front Street in downtown Burlington. After several years of considering many options including renovating its existing space and exploring multiple properties, an ideal opportunity became available.

An active Building and Grounds committee was responsible for vetting various options. , They were looking for added office and meeting space in a more visible location, with ample parking that fit within their budget. Funds for the new location are coming from existing endowments the organization has held for many years. The endowment was restricted by the Board of Directors to be used for facility needs only. The Board was careful to ensure that none of the funds being used for the new location came from funds that were donated to the organization for community problem solving, grant making or programming.

The Board approved the purchase at its July 27th meeting. United Way of Alamance County took possession of the building on August 23. It will take at least two months to renovate and be ready for the staff to move in.

We invite the community to view the plans and celebrate with us on Thursday, August 31 on United Way Day! Stop by anytime between 4-6 pm and enjoy some refreshments with us! Click here for event details.
