Important VITA Update – May 4, 2020

Considering Governor Cooper’s Three Phase Plan for re-opening NC and the state of COVID-19 in Alamance County, United Way of Alamance County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) will not re-open for the current tax season.  We regret any inconvenience or hardship this may cause to our community, but we believe this is in the best interest of our staff, volunteers and clients.

We will once again run the program for the upcoming year and consider the best and safest way to do this in the future.

If you have questions, please contact Heidi Norwick, hnorwick@uwalamance.org or 336.560.2546.

What is VITA?

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is a free tax preparation from the IRS. Each year, United Way of Alamance County partners with local schools, volunteers, and the IRS to provide the VITA Program for our community. IRS-trained volunteers will prepare your taxes for FREE!  The money you save can be used to build wealth in your household and our community.
