Racial Equity Institute — August 2018
Alamance Racial Equity Alliance (AREA) formed because community members were deeply invested in a vision for systematic, intentional changes to eliminate racial disparities in our community. AREA’s mission is to facilitate opportunities for dialogue and growth on the topic of anti-racism and to leverage knowledge to advocate for systems-level change that will eliminate racial disparities; ultimately, our goal is to end racism.
We are encouraging transformation of thought through collective learning, meaningful relationships and community events.
The next Phase One training will take place in August, online registration is open. This two-day process helps to provide talking points, historical factors and an organizational definition of racism. For Scholarship Requests please email: email@example.com
AREA continues to hold monthly learning caucuses and planning meetings to move forward with this important work.
