Employment Opportunity- Intake Specialist

Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working with victims of domestic violence and their children, victims of sexual assault, victims of child abuse, and victims of elder abuse is preferred
  • Ability to communicate with clients and public to obtain data, explain policies and procedures, and understand the needs of the client
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of FJC procedures, methods, and practices, as well as methods and practices associated with working with victims of violence
  • Ability to review and process information to determine conclusions, actions or compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations
  • Ability to apply work-related formulas or mathematical calculations
  • Ability to record, compile, summarize and perform basic analysis of data
  • Considerable knowledge of office systems and techniques, including Excel
  • Ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing
  • Ability to independently work with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties that are sensitive in nature
  • Ability to manage client crisis calls and emergency situations
  • Knowledge of best practices relating to family violence which includes identification, safety, and confidentiality
  • Has ability to maintain effective working relationships with other center professionals and to be cooperative in handling referrals
  • Has good working relationships with other staff; promotes teamwork, is cooperative, collaborative and handles delicate situations tactfully
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, recommend, and implement policy and procedural guidelines
  • Skill in organizing work flow and coordinating activities
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate work of student workers or volunteers
  • Ability to multi task and manage large volume of paperwork across multi

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
