Be the Hope for a child in Alamance County – consider becoming a foster parent!

Alamance County DSS will host an orientation session for interested foster parents on Tuesday, August 27th, at 6pm. Class size is limited, so please call to register or to obtain more information. Contact Rita Cooper (336-229-2960) or Hilary Weber (336) 229-2965.

Did you know…

  • At any given time, there are more than 100 children in foster care in Alamance County. These children, ranging in age from infants to teenagers, all need caring foster families who are able to offer them security and love…
  • The need for foster parents who are able to care for sibling groups and older youth is urgent…
  • The Alamance County Department of Social Services and Foster Families together work to ensure safety and security for children who need it most. Foster Parents are critical in this equation – they provide a stable home for children until they can either return to their family or find permanent adoptive homes…
  • Foster parents can be married, single, divorced, widowed, etc., with or without children in the home.  You do not have to own your own home or ascribe to any religious or political beliefs. You do need to be willing to provide love and care for a child, be able to meet your own financial needs, and have a demonstrated track record of dependability, compassion, and flexibility.

YOU can help make a difference in the life of a child!!
