Community Partner Spotlight: RTSA

Residential Treatment Services of Alamance (RTSA) is a 24-hour non-profit organization that offers mental illness and addiction treatment services to men and women. With multiple locations in Alamance County, RTSA is able to provide one-on-one case management and individualized treatment plans for their clients. Services range from non-hospital detox, facility-based crisis services, and residential services for those suffering with mental illness or substance abuse.

We recently toured the Hall Avenue location that houses a detox wing as well as residential services for men. While living at this location, clients can expect mandatory meetings but also time for fellowship in the evenings. Residents are required to complete daily chores and be an active participant in activities or outings. When someone first enters the facility, the primary focus is themselves and they are not allowed to get a job for the first 30 days. After 30 days have passed, the client is assessed and extra time may be needed before entering the workforce.

The staff at RTSA are compassionate and truly care for the well-being of their clients. Currently, there is a wait-list to be a client with RTSA. We learned that most of their referrals are self-referrals versus agency referrals. This means that when people are ready to commit to treatment, they approach RTSA themselves. Staff understand the difficult decision to enter treatment and treat every client with dignity. We are proud to help support an organization like RTSA!
